JAZZ FESTIVAL SPECIAL EVENT - JIMMY SMITH A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE
featuring Montreal organists Vanessa Rodrigues and Martin Petersen, in collaboration with THE CELLAR JAZZ ORCHESTRA, are pleased to present this concert featuring 2 of Canada's finest organists alongside many of Vancouver's best jazz musicians. The concert offers fans of the Hammond B-3 some of Jimmy Smith's biggest successes performed featuring original arrangements as well as some classic repertoire from the hard bop era
featuring MONTREAL ORGANISTS VANESSA RODRIGUEZ and MARTIN PETERSON backed by an all star Vancouver Big Band including BILL COON guitar, DOUG STEPHENSON bass, JESSE CAHLL drums, CORY WEEDS, STEVE KALDESTAD, CHAD MAKELA saxes, BRAD TURNER, CHRIS DAVIS, DERRY BYRNE trumpets, HUGH FRASER trombone, STEVE DENROCHE french horn and BRAD MUIRHEAD tuba.
